MFL at Waterloo
In Key Stage 2, children are introduced to MFL through Spanish. We use 'Language Angels' Scheme in Spanish, which gives a structure for teaching and learning and builds in progression over the Key Stage.
The pillars of MFL are developed through the curriculum which progressively builds pupils knowledge and skills of the following key concepts:
- Phonics
- Vocabulary
- Grammar
To develop these key areas, the curriculum has been structured progressively for each of the following aspects:
- Listening
- Speaking
- Reading
- Writing
- Grammar
The children really enjoy the interactive activities that Language Angels offers and the karaoke songs to consolidate learning in different units, are a big hit!
