Primary School
Our second Summer Topic is
Living Things and Their Habitats
The children will become experts in the use of classification keys to help group, identify and name a variety of living things! They will learn about the 7 characteristics of a living thing; sort living things in a number of ways; make a dichotomous classification key to identify local invertebrates; make observational drawings and a group large-scale drawing of an insect; finally demonstrate their knowledge of classification keys to a young invited audience.
It will be lots of fun!
Mini Beast Hunt
Year 4 went on a mini beast hunt! We have been learning about the characteristics of living things, animal habitats and looking carefully at the features of living things found in our local area.
In this fascinating topic, we will learn about rivers, some of the forces that help create and shape them and the effects they have on the world around us.
We will learn about the formation and features of a river, follow its journey to the sea and discover the role of the water cycle.
Here are some of the photos of our fantastic trip to Nell Bank. Thank you to all those involved. We had a great day!
