Owlcotes Literature Festival
Everyone had a fantastic time celebrating the Owlcotes Literature Festival before half-term. The theme of the week was 'You Choose', and all classes had a chance to explore the books You Choose Your Dreams by Pippa Goodhart and Story Path by Madalena Matoso. Both texts invited the children to think about creative and exciting outcomes for the story, and this led to each class producing their own invented tales.To really get the children's imaginations flowing, we had a 'You Choose' themed area set up in the atrium which the children were able to visit and explore throughout the week. The children's inventive stories are now being written up to be shared with the other children in the Owlcotes Trust. During this week, the children also had opportunities to listen to stories read by different members of staff, and some were even able to meet the author Pippa Goodhart on a video call! It was really interesting to hear about her journey with reading and writing.
