Our PE day is Tuesday (Changed to Wednesday in autumn 2). Please come to school wearing your PE kit and sensible shoes.

Please ensure your child has a PE kit that includes -a plain white t-shirt, black or navy tracksuit, black or navy shorts for the warmer weather and any comfortable trainers. Alternatively children can wear the blue Pudsey Waterloo PE t-shirt and hooded top. Please note that children need to wear plain PE kit and it must not have branded labels on.

Please ensure that children bring a water bottle. Earrings need to be taken out or covered up with plasters/tape. Thank you for your cooperation with PE uniform, it does ensure we all look the same and smart.

Library Books

Every Wednesday afternoon year 2 will visit the school library where they can choose a reading book to take home. This book must be returned the following week to then choose a new one. If the book is not returned then they will not be able to take one out until the previous book is returned. Please encourage your child to access the library and read the additional texts as it does support their learning and building up fluency.

Reading

Your child can change their reading book once they have finished reading it. You are more than welcome to read the book more than once or change it straight away if your child does not like it. Books can be changed first thing on a morning when children come into school and if they need support doing this a grown up will support them.

Reading is so important and we ask that you read a little each night, we know this is not always possible, but your support st home with reading is key. If you are able to ask questions on what your child has read this also supports their understanding. Feel free to speak to one of the teachers if you need any sample questions.
