Primary School
As children get to know one another the focus of our learning is linked to making relationships and learning how to work and play alongside one another.
This ongoing theme supports a focus throughout the year on effective characteristics for learning:
Our topic for the first half term is 'Ourselves'.
During this topic we have spent time sharing information about ourselves as well as learning more about our new friends.
The children enjoyed painting self-portraits during the settling in period which were displayed around the classroom.
Our topic for the second half term is 'Colour and Light'.
During this time we have explored colour mixing and looked at the difference between light and dark. The children really enjoyed sharing their experiences from Bonfire night, discussing the different coloured fireworks they had seen. The children have done some fantastic work relating to Bonfire night!
Children in Need.
Reception took part in a spotty themed day in order to help raise money for Children in Need. The children completed lots of different activities throughout this day. We even had a surprise visit from Pudsey Bear himself!!
To end the first term we celebrated all our hard work with a non-uniform day and a party!
