    Vacancies

Pudsey Waterloo Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All appointments made are subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service check (DBS).

    Local Governing Board Vacancy

Pudsey Waterloo Primary School has multiple vacancies for co-opted Governors on the Local Governing Board. School Governors on Local Governing Boards make a valuable contribution to children's education, opportunities and futures. Volunteering as a Governor is a meaningful way to be involved with the community and also to develop your own strategic skills.

There are no specific requirements to become a school Governor. Pudsey Waterloo Primary School is currently seeking Governors who can offer skills in the areas of charity outreach, marketing and communications, and HR and law – although all expressions of interest are welcome.

Governors are appointed on a 4-year term and appointments can be renewed for as long as the individual remains eligible. The Local Governing Board meets four times per academic year, usually after the working day. LGB meetings are focused on current developments in school, monitoring and analysis of data, and future planning. We aim to foster a friendly and supportive atmosphere during meetings where any and all contributions are welcome.

If this role is of interest to you then please register your interest in volunteering your time and joining our Local Governing Board by contacting Pudsey Waterloo Primary School at info@waterloo.owlcotesmat.org, using the email subject ‘Expression of Interest in the Local Governing Board.’ Please include your name, your current job role, and the areas that you feel you can offer your expertise and skills. If you prefer to have an informal discussion about a Governor role, please contact us on 01133230342.

Local Governing Boards are obliged to observe a recruitment process where decisions on new appointments will be based on how the applicant’s knowledge, skills and experience are relevant to the needs of the school.
