Design and Technology (DT) prepares children to take part in the development of today’s rapidly changing world and with creative thinking. It encourages children to make positive changes to their quality of life. At the same time as exploring the many aspects of DT, the subject challenges children to become independent and creative problem-solvers, both as individuals and as part of a team. We believe that the broad range of opportunities and experiences that we will provide allows every pupil to design the future.
At Waterloo Primary School, we complete DT projects using practical skills tasks and the 'design, create and evaluate' phases. This allows pupils to enhance their ideas and develop specific practical skills (For example, learning how to cross-stitch using textiles). Below are a number of documents that outline the DT curriculum at Waterloo but please feel free to email us if you would like to find out more.
