Children got fully involved in the Florence Nightingale Workshop as they came dressed up as soldiers, nurses, sergeants and doctors. They all actively participated in the workshop, where they recapped Florence's life and the role played going to Scutari and what changes she made. The boys took on the role of porters where they helped carry all the equipment and took orders from the nurses. The girls took on the role of nurses where they cleaned the hospital and took care of a patient.
Seasonal Changes - Autumn
On Wednesday 16th October we went outside and observed what it is like it autumn. The children noticed that the leaves were falling down and changing colour. This morning it was very wet and rained but this afternoon it was sunny but a little bit cold because it was windy.
The children looked for different leaves and observed the shapes, sizes of leaves that they found. They enjoyed taking them back to class to make a rubbing and draw their leaf.
Summer - I chose my leaf because it had pokka dots on it.
Reuben - I chose my leaf because it looked like a little boat.
Harry - I chose my leaf because it had one of my favourite colours on.
Willow - I chose my leaf because it was smooth.
We followed instructions to create some fruit kebabs. The children cut up some fruit very carefully and put the fruit onto kebab sticks, making different patterns. They then tried the kebabs and we talked about the different tastes, smells and textures of the fruits.
