Since the start of the year, we have been intrigued by our topic - Stone Age to Iron Age. Last week we learnt the mysterious story behind the Stone Henge and It was a perfect opportunity to develop our debating skills to answer the question: Why was the Stone Henge made? The children were given a role to play which outlined their belief on the question. Some believed it was made for religous reasons, others believed it was made as a calendar to tell the time of year. One group thought it was made for celebrations or 'parties' as the children explained it. I'm sure you can guess which was the favoured option. We were really impressed how the children put 100% into the debate and everyone was able to share their opinions. There are definitely some future politicians in Year 3!
