The curriculum is the whole set of learning experiences that your child is involved in as they move through school. What a child learns goes beyond the formal timetabled curriculum. Your child is unique, living in a unique place in our world. At Pudsey Waterloo we understand that it is this relationship which makes us ….. us!
Our curriculum reflects this uniqueness whilst preparing our learners for life. We believe that children should be allowed to shape their own learning and topics. To put it simply, pupils at Waterloo have a voice that is listened to. We are preparing our children for a rapidly changing world where they will be able to apply their skills flexibly and believe that high quality learning and teaching experiences will help them to make a positive contribution in life.
We aim to put our children at the centre of their own learning and place great emphasis on skills and attitudes including resourcefulness, resilience, co-operation, self-awareness and empathy to others. Our children are given the chance to become creative thinkers who are not afraid to take risks and see mistakes as opportunities for learning. At Pudsey Waterloo we believe that people learn in different ways. At our school we provide a rich and varied learning environment that allows children to develop their skills and abilities to their full potential. Through our curriculum we teach essential knowledge whist ensuring that our pupils are equipped with the skills to make them lifelong learners.
